Ain Alalam – Rashad Iskandrni

From neighborhood markets and cultural gatherings to open-air districts and heritage experiences, these are the places families return to during Ramadan.

Ramadan in Dubai extends well beyond the iftar table. As evenings grow longer, families step out together, strolling through markets, sharing small bites and taking part in traditions that bring generations together.

Across the city, dedicated Ramadan spaces and cultural attractions come alive after sunset, offering ways to mark the holy month that feel social, accessible and rooted in local heritage. From pop-up districts designed for all ages to historic neighbourhoods and open-air parks, these experiences invite families to slow down and spend time together.

Here is a curated guide to some of Dubai’s most family-friendly Ramadan markets and attractions, where evenings are shaped by atmosphere, tradition and togetherness.

Visit the Ramadan District

Now in its fourth year, the Ramadan District at Jumeirah Emirates Towers has become a familiar stop for families during the holy month. Designed as a shared evening space, it brings together food, shopping and entertainment in one easy, walkable setting.

Set against Dubai’s skyline, the open-air pop-up features curated dining concepts, artisan markets, live entertainment and cultural experiences. Families with children of all ages can enjoy everything from traditional Ramadan dishes to modern flavours, alongside interactive installations and nightly performances.

With the Museum of the Future as its backdrop, the district is as much about atmosphere as it is about what’s on offer, a place to wander, sit and let the evening unfold.

Open from 28 February to 15 March, 4pm–12am

Dubai Municipality’s Ramadan Souq

Set in the historic Grand Souq area of Deira, Dubai Municipality’s Ramadan Souq offers a return to the kind of markets many families remember growing up with,  where evenings are spent browsing, talking and moving slowly from stall to stall.

Located at Old Municipality Street Square, the souq brings together long-established shopkeepers offering Ramadan essentials and items for the much-loved Haq Al Laila celebration. Families can browse spices, fragrances, fabrics, homeware and decorative pieces that capture the spirit of the holy month.

Children are kept engaged with workshops, activities and live entertainment, while food pop-ups including Salt and Omar Odali sit alongside familiar Ramadan treats such as luqaimat, chocolates and nuts. With special seasonal products on offer and a relaxed, community-led atmosphere, it’s easy to spend the entire evening here.

Open daily from 10am to 10pm, with free entry until 15 February 2026

‘Ramadan Nights’ at Global Village

A long-standing favourite with families, Global Village takes on a distinct character during Ramadan. From glowing lanterns and crescents to warm ambient lighting and photo-worthy installations, every corner of the destination reflects the spirit of the season, creating memorable moments for guests to capture and share with loved ones.

At the heart of the season is Multaqa Global Village, a free-to-access, tent-style seating area inspired by traditional majlis gatherings. Designed for lingering, the space features soft festoon lighting and comfortable seating, offering families a place to pause, share conversations and spend time together during iftar, suhoor or late into the evening.

Live performances on the Main Stage add to the experience, with orchestral music, oud, nay, harp and violin concerts alongside the traditional Tannoura show. Across the park, more than 250 dining options allow families to take their time breaking fast, enjoying suhoor or stopping for light bites as the evening unfolds.

On selected nights, additional programming brings a lively energy to the park. The Al Mandoos Live Game Show runs across three consecutive weekends from the first weekend of Ramadan, offering an interactive experience for visiting families. The opening night also features a special drone show on Friday, 20 February at 10:00pm, lighting up the night sky in celebration of the holy month.
