4 October 2026: CATRION Catering Holding Company has been recognized with three awards at the Gulf Sustainability Awards 2026, recently held in Dubai, in recognition of the company’s continued efforts to build an integrated approach to environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices across its business and operations. CATRION received awards for Best Social Impact, Best Environmental Sustainability, and Employee Wellbeing.
The recognition marks CATRION’s second consecutive year of success at the Gulf Sustainability Awards. The awards ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Shuhail, Chief Executive Officer of CATRION Catering Holding Company, alongside members of the company’s senior leadership team. CATRION previously secured four awards in the 2025 edition, reflecting the continuity of its approach to embedding ESG practices at the heart of its operations and evolving sustainability from standalone initiatives into an integrated framework designed to deliver measurable impact.
This year, CATRION received the Best Social Impact Award for its integrated “From Waste to Value” strategy, which incorporates the redistribution of surplus food as a key component of a broader model combining food security, community empowerment, volunteering and circular economy principles. The initiative has contributed to providing meals to more than 5.25 million beneficiaries, alongside SAR 31.75 million invested in social responsibility initiatives and 50,688 training hours delivered to develop capabilities and facilitate knowledge transfer.
The company also received the Best Environmental Sustainability Award for the “CATRION Environmental Stewardship Framework,” which brings together governance, compliance, climate action, resource efficiency, waste reduction, circular economy principles and innovation. Among the results achieved were a 7.9% reduction in emissions and a 3.15% reduction in fuel consumption, in addition to securing environmental permits across its locations and maintaining a record of zero environmental violations.
Commenting on the recognition, Eng. Ziad Al-Harbi, Executive Director of Environment, Social Responsibility and Governance at CATRION, said: “We are pleased to receive this recognition for the second consecutive year, reaffirming that sustainability at CATRION is an integrated operational approach that balances environmental protection, positive social impact and investment in people, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.”
In the Employee Wellbeing category, CATRION was recognized for its “CATRION 360°” program, a year-round integrated strategy supporting more than 5,000 employees across four regions through a range of health, motivational, financial, social and community-focused initiatives. These include health screenings, workplace ergonomics awareness, blood donation campaigns, social competitions and exclusive employee offers.
Wafaa Al-Dahawi, Employee Engagement Manager at CATRION, said: “At CATRION, we believe employee wellbeing is a fundamental pillar of a workplace that enables our people to develop, perform and succeed. CATRION 360° reflects this commitment by providing integrated support that responds to our employees’ needs throughout the year.”
She added: “We are proud of this recognition, which reflects our commitment to investing in people, developing national talent, advancing women’s participation and creating opportunities for growth across our workforce.”
CATRION joined the United Nations Global Compact in 2024 and published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. The company has also continued to invest in environmental solutions and circular economy practices as part of its broader sustainability agenda.
Building on its national identity and longstanding leadership in the hospitality and catering sector, CATRION continues a journey spanning more than four and a half decades, during which it has established a legacy of expertise, operational excellence and trust, while contributing to the development of inflight catering services and the advancement of the passenger experience.
Today, CATRION is leveraging this legacy to further expand its business ecosystem by delivering integrated solutions across hospitality, catering and giga projects, strengthening strategic partnerships, and harnessing its expertise and capabilities to support national priorities while enriching the travel and hospitality experience across the Kingdom.
