Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, touted as the largest and most influential event for the connectivity ecosystem, kicked off today at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain. Hosted by the GSMA, MWC Barcelona gathers leading global tech vendors, manufacturers, mobile operators, and more to discuss the latest trends shaping the future of connectivity.<\/p>\n

On the first day of MWC, Huawei Cloud showcased 10 new AI-related innovations and extensive industry expertise in Pangu models. This announcement comes at a time when we are witnessing generative AI come to the forefront, with technology companies across the board racing to leverage its potential and create large language models (LLMs) similar to ChatGPT. While Huawei Cloud recognizes the potential of AI, the company is staying true to its strategy and exploring AI use cases for industries.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we are witnessing a new level of intelligence, driven by foundation models and generative AI. It’s predicted that by 2026, more than 80% of businesses will harness AIGC in production, transforming 70% of design and development work. By 2028, 75% of software engineers will have AI assistants by their side, up from just 10% at the start of 2023. But using this potential isn’t without challenges. Building your own foundation models requires systematic innovation. This is where Huawei Cloud can help,\u201d said Bruno Zhang, CTO of Huawei Cloud at the Huawei Cloud Summit.<\/p>\n

Zhang shared the company\u2019s two-pronged strategy to leverage AI to drive the growth of cloud computing in his address. Under AI for Cloud, Huawei will use AI and foundation models to redefine its cloud services, including software development and digital content production, as well as industry applications. Zhang also demonstrated the Pangu models for automotive, weather, virtual human, and R&D.<\/p>\n

\u201cPangu has been extensively applied in manufacturing, mining, healthcare, finance, and railway, among others. It adds value to customers by enhancing production, efficiency, and quality. All these Pangu models and related cloud services can be deployed on our public cloud, dedicated zone, or hybrid cloud. For example, you can build your own AI platform and foundation models on Huawei Cloud Stack, our hybrid cloud, and run AI and key cloud services in your data centers. You can also deploy some services on edge nodes according to your own business needs. No matter which way you choose, you’ll deploy with top-notch security and compliance,\u201d explained Zhang.<\/p>\n

As part of Cloud for AI, Huawei aims to make AI adoption seamless and efficient through architectural innovations, AI-native storage, and data-AI convergence.<\/p>\n

Echoing Zhang\u2019s sentiments, Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Service, reaffirmed the company\u2019s focus on building a solid cloud foundation to accelerate intelligence and its commitment to aiding its partners’ growth through its GoCloud and GrowCloud programs. \u201cLast year, with the support of customers and partners, Huawei Cloud kept moving fast. Huawei Cloud is one of the fastest-growing cloud providers. We hope to bring the most cutting-edge technologies, the best local service and more and better choices to our customers,\u201d Shi said.<\/p>\n
