Lincoln engineers and designers have studied how the senses can impact mood, as well as physical and mental wellbeing, and how that translates into a relaxing experience for the customer. The sense of smell is of special interest, as scents and the power of aromatherapy can affect overall mood.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">\u201cScent is one of the five senses that has one of the strongest connections to not only memory, but emotion and can play a significant role in creating an experience for our customers on the road,\u201d\u202fsaid Flore Tramblin, visualization designer for Lincoln.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">Fragrances were specially curated by perfumiers for the brand in collaboration with Lincoln designers. Lincoln specifically chose to work with fragrance suppliers that use International Fragrance Association (IFRA)-certified fragrances.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">The name Digital Scent is fitting as each scent cartridge features a microchip and is controlled through the vehicle\u2019s center stack touchscreen. The scenting experience also works in collaboration with the new <a href=\"https:\/\/ford.shorthandstories.com\/FordLincolnDigitalExperience\/index.html\">Lincoln Digital Experience<\/a>, which is easily customizable to let customers extend their digital lives into the vehicle through their favorite apps and services.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">Within the digital scent touchscreen, customers can select the individual scent and control the level of scent dispersion through three levels. Separate profiles can also be created to customize how the scent is dispersed throughout the drive. In addition, smart controls can be customized in the vehicle, allowing the driver to adjust the scent settings so one can truly relax and recharge while scent envelopes the senses with each ride.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"direction: ltr;\">Digital Scent is unique as the cartridges diffuse from the center console, separately from the vehicles\u2019 heating and cooling systems, so the driver can turn the scent on and off independently.
