Ain Alalam – Rashad Iskandrni

17 November 2024 – EDECS, a leading construction company in the MENA region, has signed an agreement with DP World, a global leader in end-to-end supply chain solutions, to develop the infrastructure work for Phase 1 of Jeddah Logistics Park.

EDECS will commence work on Phase 1 of the project, spanning an area of 180,000m2 to design and build the infrastructure package, paving works, buildings, as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP). The 415,000 m2 greenfield facility will feature a multi-purpose storage yard, making it the largest integrated logistics park in the Kingdom, offering customers an efficient platform for the seamless flow of goods to and from Jeddah. At the facility, customers will be able to benefit from efficient services that link port operations to last-mile activities, as well as bonded and unbonded zones, world-class temperature-controlled storage, import and export consolidation centers and other value-added services.

""

Eng. Hussein El Dessouky, Chairman of EDECS, said, “We are honored to have been awarded this significant project, aligned with our long-term partnership with DP World, and to contribute to Jeddah’s development as a global trade hub, supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 through this transformative initiative.”

Jeddah’s prime location along the Red Sea, close to the Suez Canal, makes it a strategic choice for establishing a logistics hub between Asia and Europe. The logistics park is expected to deliver substantial economic benefits by creating jobs, supporting multisectoral companies, and attracting foreign investment. It is part of a broader initiative to develop logistics parks and zones across Saudi Arabia.

Established in 2022 as part of a 30-year concession, Jeddah Logistics Park will be developed in two phases with a planned opening in Q2 2025.

EDECS has an extensive portfolio of significant maritime projects across the region. The company is committed to using innovative technologies and eco-friendly materials to further support its specialization in marine infrastructure projects, showcasing the highest standards of quality and safety.

[/mhc_text][/mhc_column][/mhc_row][/mhc_section]
