\u00a0(January 30, 2025)<\/strong> \u2013 Nissan Formula E Team celebrated a remarkable triumph in Round 2 of the 2024\/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, with Oliver Rowland securing the team\u2019s first GEN3 Evo victory through a series of stunning late overtakes. This thrilling success sets the stage for the highly anticipated Jeddah ePrix, the inaugural Formula E race in Saudi Arabia\u2019s iconic Corniche Circuit, where the team aims to continue its winning momentum.<\/p>\n

Starting fourth on the grid after advancing to the semi-finals of the duels, Rowland swiftly moved into the top three by Turn 1 on the second lap. Demonstrating strategic brilliance, he delayed activating his Attack Mode, seizing the perfect opportunity during a late Safety Car restart to surge from fourth to first in under a minute, ultimately clinching the victory.<\/p>\n

Norman Nato, who faced a challenging qualifying session and started from P18, showcased his determination by gaining five positions to finish in P13, highlighting the team\u2019s resilience throughout the race.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an amazing result for the team and to achieve this victory in Mexico, which is such an important market for Nissan, and in front of these brilliant fans is very special. Oli\u2019s performance was excellent, with strong pace and brilliant overtakes in the very last laps of the race. Norman had great speed as well, but we made a mistake in qualifying which compromised his starting place and he couldn\u2019t do much despite a solid drive throughout the whole race. Overall, it\u2019s been an incredible day, and the performance this weekend gives us lots of confidence heading into the rest of the season, especially with the exciting challenge that awaits in Jeddah ePrix.\u201d<\/p>\n

This victory propels Nissan to second place in the Manufacturers\u2019 Standings, with Rowland also climbing to second in the Drivers\u2019 Championship. Building on their recent success, the team turns its focus to the upcoming double-header in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on February 14 and 15, 2025. After six successful races in Diriyah since 2018, the shift to Jeddah marks an exciting new chapter for Formula E in the region.<\/p>\n

About Nissan in Formula E<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nissan made its all-electric racing debut in Season 5 (2018\/19) of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, becoming the first and only Japanese manufacturer to enter the series.<\/p>\n

In Season 7 (2020\/21), Nissan announced its long-term involvement in Formula E and its commitment to the GEN3 era, which will run from Season 9 (2022\/23) through to the end of Season 12 (2025\/26) of the all-electric racing series.<\/p>\n

In April 2022, Nissan acquired the e.dams race team, with the Japanese automaker taking full ownership of its involvement in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.<\/p>\n

In June 2022, Nissan announced it would supply its Nissan EV powertrain technology to McLaren Racing for the entirety of the Formula E GEN3 era.<\/p>\n

On 28th March 2024, ahead of the first ever Tokyo E-Prix, Nissan announced its long term commitment to Formula E, becoming the first manufacturer to sign up for the GEN4 era, which runs until 2030, reinforcing its pledge to its Ambition 2030 electrification targets.<\/p>\n

For Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the Nissan Formula E drivers are Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato.<\/p>\n

Nissan races in Formula E to bring the excitement and fun of zero-emission electric vehicles to a global audience. As part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality across its operations and the life cycle of its products by 2050, Nissan intends to electrify every all-new vehicle offering by the early 2030s in key markets.
